Translating a song
Finnish song: Linnuton puu by Anna Puu English version: A tree without birds
Without your laugh,
I am the tree without birds,
Full with leaves
A tree without birds
Without your warmth
I'm just a pride moon,
Shining and cold
A pride moon.
If your love,
Comes and inhabits the deserted tree,
If you come to my branch,
I'll let you lay beside me.
Without your words
I'm just an endless road,
Without no guide
An endless road
Without your deeds
I'm the land covered with clay,
Without grain
A land covered with clay
If you express your love,
Then this road will find it's ending.
If you want to sit on my branch,
I'll make a fertile land
Where the tree without birds,
A tree without birds will take on its arms.
If you express your love,
Then this road will find it's ending.
If you want to sit on my branch,
I'll make a fertile land,
Where the tree without birds will take,
You to live on its arms.
Some principles of translation
I have used on my translation as like translation should read like an original work, a translation should read like a translation and a translation must give the words of the original. The original doesn't have verse so I made English version same as the original.
